The Vines

That the wine is made in the vine, is a reality that during generations has been transmitted to the men and women of Portell, they are, the partners grape growers, who day to day cultivate the vines with much well-taken care and illusion to obtain the best fruits.

The more than 1000 ha of vines, planted from 350 to almost 700 meters of altitude to the north of the wine region of the Conca de Barberà, are of the highest vines in Catalunya, where a sustainable and reasoned grape growing is being made, locating each variety of grape there where it obtains a greater balance and develops its fully qualities.

We have macabeu and parellada as our white varieties, and in reds tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and mainly the native Trepat, being this the variety of reference and the most cultivated in our vines.

Trepat: The autochthonous and unique variety of Conca de Barbera, our land. Macabeo: The variety  that provides the aromatic capacity and the structure to our cavas. Parellada: The variety that provides the aromatic ability  and freshness to our cava. Tempranillo: The variety that brings youth to our wines. Cabernet Sauvignon: The variety that brings finesse to our wines. Merlot: The predominant variety in our reserve wine.
